Dr. Pam Perez

Do you ever find yourself asking, How did I get here? How did my life take the direction it has?

Perhaps you experienced some kind of trauma in your past – childhood abuse, a relationship trauma, or those received on the battlefield – and you are wondering why what happened then continues to affect and impact your life now. I am here to tell you that healing is possible. There is hope!

Maybe you’ve been thinking about talking to someone for a while now…. All too often, the crisis point comes when we least expect it – the internal turmoil we work so hard to keep hidden inside refuses to stay there any longer. Like a rubber ball we press down under the water, it eventually slips out of our hands and pops to the surface. Sometimes, we just need someone to help us process it all through.

Or, you could be struggling in your marriage. The truth is that we all struggle at times. The difference now is that you are finally ready to let someone come alongside you and help. You are finding it no longer makes sense to keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome! It would be my honor to help you find some real solutions. I have been married over 40 years myself, and while marriage is not always easy, it is certainly worth the journey. I love helping couples come together to make their marriage the very best it can be.

The first step is trusting someone with your story and allowing that person to come alongside you on your journey.

While you may have been feeling that you simply have nowhere to turn when it comes to trying to process your emotions or find a way out, I am here to assure you that you do not have to walk through the difficult places on life’s journey alone. I have spent over 20 years working with survivors of trauma, abuse, PTSD, and a variety of other challenges that so many of us face along the way. I have a special heart for veterans and first responders.

As a Neuropsychologist, I am fascinated by our miraculous brains and brain/behavior relationships and have spent many years studying and training others in this area.

My favorite part about doing this work is bringing people hope, no matter what the issue or how deep the pain they are facing. I am committed to providing you with the tools you need to live life as you want it, to no longer live in bondage to past hurts or present fears, and to use these experiences as building blocks for a bright future.

You are not alone on your journey! Please contact me for a free 20-minute phone consultation prior to making your first appointment. I look forward to speaking with you.

Education

  • Long before I pursued a degree I worked for many years as a paraprofessional in Christian Lay Counseling, principally working with survivors of trauma and abuse. During that time, I spent years speaking at conferences and retreats, teaching bible studies, and leading groups. When the time was right, I began the long journey to earning my degrees and eventual licensure.

I received my first master’s degree Counseling Psychology (MFT) from California Baptist University. From there I went on to Loma Linda University where I received a second Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology and then a Doctorate in Psychology (Neuroscience emphasis). This opened the door for me to teach at several local universities. I am absolutely amazed by brain/behavior relationship and love the work I have been privileged to do in this field!
